John Hodgman on his newfound fame (via mac v. pc ads) and public recognition:
“People will say, ‘You look like that guy from the commercials.’ And I say, ‘Yes, there’s a good reason for that…I’m very self-similar.’”
It bothers me when actors/actresses real-life personae differ sharply from their portrayals.  Hodgman’s doesn’t seem to, and yet the mental takeaway is so different: dry, fantastic humor from the man (endearing), and dry, pathetic material from the man in the ads (off-putting).  Interesting. 
Platform allegiances aside, I’d love to see Hodgman stage an off-camera, impromptu PC comeback.  I bet he beats the creative pants off of Mac-actor Justin Long.  I bet he beats the pants off of just about anyone.
